Her Breasts So Translucent the Light of the TV Passes Through Them (TVテレビの光にもすかされるうすき胸, Terebi no hikari ni mosu ka sareru usuki mune?) is Chapter 143 of the manga Beastars written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki, published in the Weekly Shōnen Champion of the Akita Shoten publishing house.[1]

Synopsis[]

In the cafeteria of the Galdona University, Louis is annoyed constantly checking a kiss mark on his shoulder until he is interrupted by a young leopard who asks permission to sit next to him. Before this, Louis remembers that when a carnivore asks a herbivore if they can sit next to them, the polite thing to do would be to say no. However, most herbivores wouldn't go out of their way to reject such a simple request, so Louis accepts while internally insulting the leopard for sitting next to a herbivore while being "meat-drunk". Louis explains that when carnivores taste meat for the first time in their lives, it takes about a month for their bodies to get used to the thrill and pleasure of it. In that month, they succumb to lightheadedness, shaky hands, rise in temperature, and insomnia. As the Shishigumi informed him, this is called being "meat-drunk". Louis deduces that the student is just one of those immature youngsters who learned to fool around shortly after entering university, as well as being one of the many carnivores on campus that he has seen meat-drunk, so Louis nostalgically concludes that carnivores are good-for-nothings.

At the same time, the Shishigumi maintains a savagely hostile attitude towards Legoshi, establishing their loyalty towards Louis and their contempt for canines. Legoshi keeping his distance, only tries to convince the Shishigumi to work together to contact Kopi Luwak, but the Shishigumi responds hostilely and clarify that they can't work with animals that aren't lions, at least while Louis is not with them. They only play nice when Louis is around, so Legoshi responds by pointing out the respect the Shishigumi have for Louis. Dolph clarifies that making Louis their boss was a business gamble which turned out to be a big time winner. All the groups of the Black Market were amazed to how the Shishigumi were like with Louis as their leader, who bewitched all the males and females under his spell.

In the cafeteria, Louis checks his kiss mark again, which for a carnivore would be a medal of honor, but for an herbivore it is nothing but a mark of defeat. Frustrated, Louis wonders if perhaps his fate is to be prey to every living animals on the planet, remembering the night he had with his fiancée, Azuki. He remembers that a few days ago he slept with his fiancée for the first time and wondered if perhaps a marriage for political reasons is the right way for him, in addition to wondering if he should abandon the Shishigumi, while drinking water to get these questions out of his head. The TV showed an herbivore newscast with baseless claims against carnivores. With their thin and weak bodies intertwined, with anti-carnivore rhetoric as background music, Louis feels like there is something strange in this environment, or rather, the only strange thing is him and that is why this situation makes him feel so uncomfortable. Being kissed by Azuki, Louis can only think how he kisses differently than Juno does, and how nothing in Azuki's mouth resembles Juno's rough canine teeth. After this, Louis decides not to compare Azuki to Juno and focus on what is in front of him, dedicating all his concentration to having sex with Azuki. Invaded by the memories of the important carnivores in his life, after a pause, Louis ends up vomiting. After throwing up dramatically on her first night with his fiancée, Louis spent the rest of the night with his face over the toilet and with his fiancée's hand on his back.

While Louis is embarrassed to recall such a humiliating memory, the Shishigumi admit to having changed Louis to some degree, stating that if Louis becomes too acquainted with carnivores, he will stray away from his happy life as an ordinary herbivore elite. Free is happy because he assures that Louis would never settle for such a lame life. Legoshi asks them why don't they try calling Louis. Dolph responds that he does not think he would answer, and also they do not want to force him to help them. As much as it pains them, if Louis does not answer their call, they will have to give up on him, so it all depends on Louis.

In the cafeteria, Louis keeps losing his patience and gives the leopard by his side some mints that will make him feel less meat-drunk, recommending him to take it easy with the Black Market. Louis leaves, thinking how he cannot leave troubled carnivores alone as he is now, and he should have realized this before turning his night with Azuki into a disaster. He calls the Shishigumi and agrees to help them in exchange for them comforting him for the whole night. The Shishigumi agree and Agata wonders if perhaps Louis had problems with a girl.
